Samuel Francis (1976-2023) was a devoted husband, father, and co-founder of Francis Gourgon & Gonzalez, LLP. He served in the Marine Corps Reserve and was a police officer with the Oakland Police Department for thirteen years. Samuel received his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, where he received CALI and Witkin Awards for Trial Advocacy. Samuel was also a Tony Patino Fellow, a select network of law school graduates who demonstrated leadership ability, good moral character, ethical conduct, motivation, and initiative.

Samuel will be remembered for his kindness, charity, and friendship.
